What do you guys think ?

Could this raise property Taxes because the "owner" now has more land ? :smoke:

I found this on " another forum "

hope it is useful

Does not sound good !

"Thought I would post this proposed law change affecting nontidal private/public property lines. I think this would affect duck hunters and shoreline fishing the most. There are 2 proposed bills sitting in Tallahasee that could change the current law on what is private property. The current law uses the high water mark as the end of public property and the beginning of private property. The new law would change that to the low water mark. In a river or any wetland that is huge change. Go to this link pick 1/24/2012 go to page T11. Sorry could not get a direct link. http://tbteedition.t...times/index.php This is Tampa Bay Times formerly known St, Petersburg Times. Call your state Rep. this is huge land grab of public land. This affects everyone hunters, boaters, campers, fishermen."

This is just one of the things that the RFA is fighting against, if you would like to know more about all the crazy things that politicians are coming up with instead of focusing on the real things that need done check out the Recreational Fishing Alliance website, you would really be suprised at all of your rights that you will be losing if we dont speak up.

I would suspect something a little more sinister here. Seems like this is just another way to increase requirements for flood insurance. If more of the marsh is "privately owned" land, the larger the percentage of the private property is in the flood plain...thus more people will be required by their homeowner's insurance company to purchase flood insurance. Probably a kickback to all the companys that threatened to pull out of Florida. They just did a "reassessment" of all the flood plain maps here in Duval and guess what???? My property is now in a flood plain whereas before it wasn't. Now explain this...its supposed to be a 100yr plain - meaning the property flooded at least once in the last 100 years. And since I know my property hasn't flooded since I've owned it(not even close, even in the storms of a few years ago), how am I now in a flood plain? Its all about the money... :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:
