I have a question for some of you. I am looking into getting one of the portable little air horns. The one with the canister of air and the horn on the top. My question is after you screw the horn onto the can does it leak air out over night or so. I have a Co2 air pistol and if I put an Co2 cartridge on the gun I have to use it up or it will bleed off the pressure in a few hours. I just wondered if the air horns will do that as well or if they are ready to go at a moments notice. Thanks

You might want to give this one a shot. It's painfully loud, requires a surprisingly small blow and never needs a new can of air.

BTW: If you do run into this horn, remember that you blow into the side of it and not the end. It's not obvious and I've read some reviews that says it made hardly any sound at all. I won't if you blow on the end! But if you blow in the small middle hole, you'd best plug your ears!

I would not suggest an air horn. I had my kayak in the back of my truck at the end of last summer and had one of those cheap stadium air horns in my crate. I was inside my office with a concrete wall between me and the truck and heard a loud bang. I didn't think much of it, but when I went to put the kayak in that afternoon there was a hole in the side of my crate and the air horn had exploded into a bunch of shrapnel. Could have been painful if I was kayaking in the middle of the day when it heated up to the point of exploding. Now its only a whistle for me.
