Live bait yes... shrimp under cork yes.. but I also believe bigger trout eat fish more so than shrimp, just my opioion on what works for myself..but cut bait? Not saying it doesnt happen just sayin 8 trout over 27 in a yr is a crazy yr.. I need a yr like that.. I just want 1 over 30 and im good for life.. Alot of my spots I anchor and fish its like fishing in a barrel on lower tides

Ladyfish, ladyfish and more ladyfish, last year was very unusual year for Guana Lake. Somebody left the gate open and let in a huge school of small ladyfish. They were mostly between 5" to 10" long and quickly became the trouts favorite thing to eat. You could either catch them with a cast net or my favorite a small top water plug. I usually bottom fished with a #3 red circle hook with 2" to 3" of cut bait. By the end of the summer, most of the lady fish were gone and I went back to using a skitterwalk which is also very effective(thanks Chappy). BTW, you can check out my posts from last year, I think I posted everything over 25". We will have to find out what they will hit this year, I expect it will be live or cut mullet, the lake is full of them right now.
thanks, C.

Once again Mike, i agree. Said this on a similar post and i'll say it again. "Why match the hatch when you can just use the hatch?"
