POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Dudley Farm HSP is located between Gainesville and Newberry Florida on 325 acres. It is a third generation 1870s historic homestead composing of 18 historic structures focusing on interpreting the post-Civil War to 1920s time period as well as being an example of a working Florida farm. The Park service Specialist position is to direct the operations of the farm as a satellite of OLeno Administration under the Park Manager II and Assistant Park Manager. These duties would include historic interpretation, historic maintenance of structures, farming, livestock care, research, landscaping, volunteer management and recruitment, prescribed burning, exotic plant removal, collection management, and prioritizing of projects at the park.
THIS IS A RESIDENT POSITION.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:
Knowledge Of Principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communications; administrative principles and practices; methods of data collection and analysis; natural and cultural resource preservation and restoration techniques; the principles, methods and techniques of training; good public relation techniques.
Skill In Working with volunteers; computer operation and applications.
