I am a newbie to this site, but i find this thread very good and certainly amusing. Sport Fishing magazine ran a article in Feb, 2009 about light tackle fishing. Anyone that has heard of Tred Barta knows he likes a challenge. Barta was fishing off Guatemala using 4lb test for sails and 16 lb test for blue marlin. He landed 3 out of 3 on the sails and 2 out of 2 on marlin. One marlin about 200 lbs and the other about 280. So my 2 cents worth is nice job with the light tackle sure catch.

Thx Blasky, I feel the same way.. Its all about a challege for me my 6 yr old son can go catch a ton of fish with a 2500 with 10lb line which I have ton so much.. For me I like the spot of trying to land a trophy fish on a pole that is a true tast to do so.. Everyone has there right for me using larger line and gear is very boring to me..
