I would say that today had to be the best fishing day of the year thus far and it topped off a great week of vacation and 4 seperate chances to get the fish on. I was out at sunrise this morning and fished till around 11:00AM and caught mostly the falling tide, luckily it was not as cold as forcast but the wind made up for it. I was dressed appropriately and the fish really didn't mind and after a nice paddle S under the Beach bridge and to my only spot of the day, I settled in. It all started with a nice 19 in red but before it was all done the tally was somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 or so rats, 2- 19 in reds, a 22 inch & fat 25 inch red, 3 trout all in the slot (16, 17 & 18"), 3 flatties (11, 14, 20") and a couple of skates (all on muds and live shrimp on jig heads). I figured that was around 40 feet of fish and a nice 63" slam in just under 4 hours (and dinner for the wife).

It is early in the year but this might be hard to top, I guess I will just have to get afetr it!

Happy New Year all and happy fishing!

Great start to the new year! Glad to see you didn't let the elements get in your way of finding the fish :salute:
