My son Rhett and I made a run to Jax to look at a Boggy Creek Boat Works 12' skiff. It weighs in at 60# so the two of us can handle it easily and get it into some way back in spots easier than handling 2 yaks. We'll also be able to fish together, something important to each of us.

It is rated for 2.5 hp but we'll paddle (yak paddle) or use a small trolling motor. It will be light gray and have a decal of a Carl Hanson Glass Minnow fly on the side to honor our old, long gone, fly fishing mentor, Carl Hanson.


We decided to delete the middle seat and added 2 fly rod tubes on each side of the boat.

BTW, if you haven't seen Boggy Creek Boats, you are missing something.

Hey Ken, I checked out the site and you are right they make so great looking rigs. There are times I consider a motor boat besides just our CraigCat since my father cannot comfortably fish in it our a kayak. He is most comfortable in the swivel seat of an 18' Lund Alaskan. Those Boggy Creek boats look comfortable, inexpesnsive to run, keep up and most important it won't break the bank to buy one.
