Merry Christmas everyone! I was able to hit the creek with two dozen shrimp and my favorite arties Friday. Plan A was to fish topwater over the submerged oysters at high tide. I was not as successful as I had hoped due to bird interference. I had a small school of gulls and other birds circling over me that were divebombing my spook jr. Two of them even picked it out of the water and started to fly off with it. I did not want to risk hooking and injuring them so I decided to go subsurface from that point on.

I threw white Cabelas curly tails, Saltwater Assasin paddle tails and Yum shrimp lures to pick off 5 trout to 18" and a blue fish. Using my live shrimp I picked up 7 Reds (mostly rats) with the biggest being 24". I also picked up a nice 24 " Black Drum to round out my day and missed a few nice fish that came unbuttoned before I got them to the yak. My best 2 fish were my last 2. I caught the 24" Black Drum and 24" Red back to back. Both were great fighters but that Black Drum was a horse. Good Luck!
