I have made new leaders for my rods. How do you get the pigtail twist out? Can I stretch it out? Any suggestions please.

Get a soft piece of leather and pull the leader between the leather (folded) so that it heats up. It will straighten out your leader line. Your fingers will work also but you'll burn the crap out of your fingers :smoke:

Thanks. I'll try that as well.

Are these Knoted or Twisted leaders?
I just pull each individual piece of mono between my teeth before making my knots.

Just be sure to straighten each piece before making your connecting knot. When done just wet and stretch them, let dry loosely coil.

A big fish will always straighten out your leader :smoke:

If you make "Furled Leaders" you always have a nice, straight leader that casts great. Coil a couple of new ones in a sandwich bag and they will straighten right out when you are ready to use them.
