Since SML will be closed for fishing, I'm thinking about trying to shoot some ducks there. Any advice?

Defintely do your scouting before hand. Have more than 1 option for setting up as the place does have its periods of pressure and you don't want to get to "your spot" and find someone else occupying it. Are you going to hunt from your kayak? If you plan on wading, be careful. There are deep holes in the oddest of places - like right next to the reeds. Not sure if these are gator holes, but I am sure you are aware of them out there. I have never been bothered by them, but I have never stepped on ones head either. Recently there have been quite a few people putting in at the North end of the lake at the corner of A1A and Micklers. Gives you a little easier access to that part of the lake if paddling. Worth the effort to explore/scout. Steve
