Surely after Sunday's dismal performance they won't start Mccowan next week so now you've got a QB who just a few weeks ago was third string running the show.
Clearly Gerarrd needed to be replaced but not by this guy.
Just my opinion but I think the decision to replace Gerarrd was a front office deal to try and generate some excitement and sell a few more tickets.....wonder how ticket sales are going now :angryfire: :angryfire: :angryfire:

Still a fan, just an angry one.

I think that was the whole plan from jump street. Gabbert should start! Kid is a badass in the making. What you should be crying about is our offensive line. They suck! I have a good feeling about Gabbert, just has to get a few PRO games under his belt.

Who we need to get ride of is Del Rio. He keeps up with this poor play calling we are just going to end up breaking Drew again. With a new QB should come some new plays, you would think.

Not crying....venting.
The O-line has sucked for all of recent memory.

Jags??? Seems to me that I was a Jag's fan at one time. If I remember correctly, I finally decided that they are poorly coached and managed. I refuse to attend their games or even watch them on TV. Unable to recall if they are still located in JAX :smoke:

the jags need a new secondary period(besides for lowery and cox). we need to get rid of kampman because all he has done is take up depth on our roster. im not quite sure about roth our interior lineman are really good.linebackers look awesome compared to last year. The jaguars offensive line needs some coaching. the runningbacks look good. we have awesome fullbacks. i think are widereceivers could do some work get a new wideout because we havent a good wr since smith retired. Im not sure about are quarterbacks Luke mcwon look good 2 weeks ago but sunday i dont what happend him (maybe revis and cromartie scared him) but im not sure about him blaine gabbert yet so far he looks good for somebody who didnt have a mini camp ota and training camp. that is what i have to say about are jaguars.

They just stink - since DelRio took over their BEST year was mediocre.

We have absolutely no talent on O other than Mojo and Marcedes when he can play. No QB, no WRs at all. For a time we were able to rely on good D to shield these shortcomings and now the D is weak as well. (Remember when we had a D coordinator that coached what he had UP? Smitty is greatly missed)

Look for example at the talent NewEngland puts on the field - Deion Branch, Wes Welker, Ocho Cinco, and either Broknkowski or Hernandez at tight end - with options like that the D is not going to be able to cover them. Now think about the "weapons" the Jags put on the field - that's right there are NONE in that class otheran than marginally Lewis.

Gabbert has no chance either - he looks like a teenager playing a man's game. In college he never threw the ball much deeper than a route into the flat and had no rep at all for having a pro arm. MIssouri won a lot of games in a weak half of their conference and never once beat the big boys. Yet we pass on Tebow to take Gabbert a year later?

Just look at the list of players they have passed on the last 8-9 years and we have gotten nothing in the first round except Mojo, and certainly nothing in subsequent rounds or via free agency.

We could have had Tim Tebow at this point (remember how we passed on him and could have traded down like denver did right after us and gotten a good lineman as well?) and the stadium would be full even if they sucked because there would be hope - but there is no hope for this perpetual losing organization. It's not just the players and coaches but also the personnel mgmt - Gene and his staff need to go as well.

It's amazing to see all the WR talent in the league that the Jags passed on and then to look at the roster and see what we have to work with - same for O line. We could have had Oher (starting lineman for the Ravens from the Blindside story) and many other worthy talents but the Jags do not know how to assess talent unless they are doing their best to do poorly (like Obama and the economy)

When they let Garrard go it was the usual cut not a trade that other teams seem to make when offloading semi-talent. Look for him to show up at a playoff team. Jags that leave Jax often go and get super bowl rings or go to playoff teams - ask Keenan Mcardell, Byron Leftwich, Mark Brunell, Sensebaugh and numerous others we have let go for NOTHING. We pay them when they are here and let them go for nothing.

It may sound like sacrilege but they need to trade Mojo while he is still worth a 1st round pick. They certainly dont need a player of his caliber to lose the way they do. Heck Dirk Cutter doesn't know how to use him anyway - he just runs him into a wall every time. Maybe he should consider play action once in a while on 1st or 2nd and short yardage instead of just sending him at the wall. Anyone could coach D against the Jags offensive tendencies - they are as uncreative and nonstrategic as possible.

They need to lose the coaches and staff, trade what talent they can unload for some draft picks and seriously start rebuilding. This whole "we win ugly" "strategy" is not a strategy - it's what you do when you dont have talent or coaching. It's a lousy excuse for zero creativity and no one wins in the NFL with that strategy in this day and age.

I'd love to see Jeff Fisher here in Jax - I cant believe Tennessee let him go - he always outcoached Jax.

Flame off

I may have posted this on the forum before, but a friend of mine was an assistant coach on the Giants. He was telling me that Del Rio's rep in the NFL is pretty bad. He has always laid blame on his assistant coaches. During his time as coach, he has fired and hired more new asst coaches than any other coach in the NFL. Any asst coach that is willing to come to Jacksonville is one who has no other offers!

I am like you Mike. I shake my head in amazement when I look at what other teams have done in the draft and trades. They are more concerned about money than developing a winning team. Until Weaver and gang are willing to make a commitment to have a winning team, they will always remain to be the Jag's as we know them today.

As previously stated, I will no longer attend games nor watch them on TV. They are a total joke. Why support something that will never work. IF YOU KEEP DOING THINGS THE SAME WAY OVER AND OVER, ALL YOU CAN EXPECT IS THE SAME RESULT :angryfire:

you'd really want Tebow as a QB for the Jags? he's 3rd on the depth chart behind Orton & Brady Quinn! I agree with ya'll tho... the whole idea of fielding a decent team for Jacksonville is simply talk... no coaching, no offense, no line... no playmakers (with the exception of MJD)... all those high draft pics on O-line has produced nada... they take that Tyson (not even gonna attempt to spell or pronounce his name) as a 1st round pick a couple years ago... Jags waste 1st round picks on second & thrid round talent...

I do feel for you all as jaguar fans tho... I feel your pain tho... we dealt with the same crap when Dave Campo was the head coach in Dallas...

jeff fisher would be a hell of a coach for Jax tho!

ok first off we needed a good dt look at tyson aluaha stats 39 tackles 3.5 sacks look at warren sapp(thats rite i said warren sapp one of the best lineman in the nfl ever) had 28 tackles his rookie season. what is with you guys and tebow he cant through for nothin all he is is a wasted draft pick (in the nfl they call that a first round bust). i do agree though with are widereceivers they need a new one . as i said are offensive line need some work. dont get me wrong jack del rio is not that great of a coach and the jaguars have made alot of first round bust(from derreck harvey bryon leftwich etc.).
