After fishing doa shrimp off and on for 2 years I have yet to catch a fish on one. Maybe I need to fish one day and only take doa shrimp to make me fish it.

Agree with the last part of this statement. Never caught a thing!

Captmoolyboog I believe the number one trout lure is the DOA shrimp. Once you figure them out it is hard to put them down. I like to fish them in moving current with just a simple lifting of the rod tip and a twitch every now and then. Let the current do most of the work. When I find the trout schooled up I can catch one on every cast at times. A Mirrodine 17mr, gulp 4" swimming mullet on a 1/4oz jig head or a Saltwater Assasin Sea Shad paddle tail also do the trick for me. My favorite color is white. I hope this helps....Good luck.

I haven't tried the DOA lures yet. I'm more of a live bait / fresh dead bait kind of fisherman.
I want to learn to use jigs. I bought a couple of bags of the Gulp curly tails in different colors but the pinfish seem to really like them.
I bought a few of the Cajun thunders but haven't tried them yet.

Baron i was the same way man. Used it off and on for several years and never had even a bite. they would rot in my tackle box. Then one day the wife decided she wanted to try one out and on the first cast she gets a very nice Flounder... imagine my embarrassment  Since that day i have changed up my retrieve and have made a few decent catches with em. My problem with them is the lack of weight. In any current at all they don't make it to the bottom. I fish fast water so, rather a waste of my time for the most part. Here's the wife making me look bad lol.

Here's my main box anyways. Other stuff is mainly terminal tackle for live bait rigs and whatnot.

Here's my inshore tackle box. I mostly fish jig heads with paddle tails. Sometimes I'll throw x-raps and skitterwalks but I'm pretty new to hard bait fishing.

Also, another opportunity to show my "prized" catch on DOA shrimp. I still think it's pretty cool that I caught it on DOA!

If I were to be honest, my winter tackle is pretty simple.......

One (1) package Gulp shrimp

One (1) package Saltwater Assassin Chicken on a Chain paddletails

One (1) package Slayer 1/8 oz red jig heads

:headbang:

Pro cure for me just gives Pin fish a reason to hit baits they normally leave alone. Also ruins hard lures after a while. Never tried it on soft jigs. Bet that would work well. Not bashing Pro Cure though. I do use it. Just hate what it does to my hard baits.

I don't keep the Pro Cure in my tackle box..... keep it in a side pocket on my kayak :thumbleft:

I use a 8by8by4 Tupperware to store my tackle in for a days trip in the yak. I find they are cheaper than waterproof "tackle boxes" and generally keep water out better. I leave my large catch all tackle box in my truck. Don't have pictures as I am out of town working :pirate:

Topwater skitter walks
1/4 oz Doa cal jig heads w/ 3" mirror lure shad

If I'm not using these 2 setups I'm using live bait or I'm not fishing, change up colors, Why change if it works, and of coarse the 5" Provoker weed less for sighting reds n trout.

I always take the doa apart (take out the weight and hook) and put it on a jighead, its been really catching fish, and I caught less bluefish on them than gulps
