Hey Will, We primarily fish around the low tide 2 hours before and 2 hours after when sight fishing is at its best. The floating line is really all you need for this and is what I use 90% of the time. There are times when a intermediate line is handy for fishing deeper holes (the intermediate line is also ideal for fishing the surf). An eight weight rod is the norm although I really enjoy using my 6 weight. 12lb flouro tippet and a Size 4 Clouser.... your ready to go :thumbright: .

Would that be a .....black clouser? I agree with BC, especially now that things are warming up, for the most part you can do quite nicely with your floating line. During the winter months, I'll use a full sinking line, or even depth charge fast sinker to dredge fish up at high tide/deep holes, but hopefully those days are behind us for a while. I think an 8 weight will work but I also prety much exclusively fish with a 6 wt. Clousers work well, opinions on color and size vary, but if you can put the fly in front of a fish, that keeps you in the game.

Likewise here. I pack a floating and intermediate(15') clear sink tip and end using the floater 80% of the time. The sink tip is used for deeper holes and around the higher tide periods. We all like the low the best for sight fishing utilizing the floater more.

I fish a few deeper channels blind casting and a sink tip or intermediate sink line is the only way to catch fish in them consistently. I try to carry both floating and sinking depending on where I'm planning to fish.
