For the guys worried about the hole in the front if you look the peice that sticks out in the front is a door that folds up so that its and enclosed trailer. Also I am still a little worried about it turning over but the great thing is if its too unstable all i have to do is make the trailer frame wider or get another one. The a-frame box is completely removable although it would take some time and careful planning lol! I made the box on the assumption that eventually I might have to get a wider base trailer or wider axle but i did not want to make the box any smaller than it is.
It is waterproof and its 100% pressure treated lumber. I did not want to cheap out on that part and have a main cross beam rot out on me in a few years!!! The only part i may have issues with is the door sealing to the trailer. I was thinking about some type of weather stripping or something similar but im not really sure, any ideas on that would be helpful.
keastman- I was thinking of something to that effect but GillAgin brought up a good point to me. If I made the back the door and made it the same style as I did the front door the top corner would always be in the dirt or mud and would probly go bad fairly quickly. Also I could not think of a more user friendly type door to put on a triangle shaped wall that would allow me as much of an open access type door as the front.
Upthe creek- First thing GillAgin thought of was an a-framed dog house lol!!
CPP- I have given that some thought but have not yet reach a decision on what would be the most legal route, any imput would be nice.
Thanks for all the comments Guys ill be posting more pics as I get closer to completion. Sad part is im now working 2 jobs and going to college so I dont have a whole lot of time anymore!!

That's a pretty neat little trailer, and concept. I will be most interested to see how it works out for you. Question though, should you plan to sleep in it, are you going to have windows or something cut out that you can lower for ventilation? Or will you have a screen door or something to put up to keep the bugs out? I'm not clausterphobic or anything, but I do like to breathe fresh air and should you use it to camp in, if you just left the door down, seems to me like you might get eaten alive by the skeeters...have you considered anything like that yet?
neat project though

It would be easy to have a drop down screen on the inside of the door that secures with velcro, then the door could be left open.

also alter the back to hinge in the middle instead of at the bottom so it could be opened for ventalation but not be laid down in the mud. agree with the drop down screen secured with velcro. then pimp it out with a receiver hitch on the back that would accept a "relax-a-chair" hanging bracket along with a grill mount. i think i need to start looking for a trailer to play with too.

I think if everyone would look closely at the photos you will see that the front is not going to be open when he travels. If you look at the tongue of the trailer you can see the front door laying on it with hinges. You can also see the latches where half way up for when the door is in the closed position. It does however kinda remind me of the old KOA campgrounds. lol But hey if it works for him and he likes it the good for him.

I do like the screen door idea but yes I am looking into some kind of vents because not only do I like fresh air I don't like it to be 100 degrees inside when its 80 outside! The thing is like an oven inside. I was running the wires for the clearance lights and even with the door open its still hot so I am going to have to put a vent on the backside. I am not planning on this being my main place to sleep when camping but more of a back up in case of bad weather or tent failure.
