Just to confuse things a bit more.

The Malibu Extreme and X-factor are two more big guy boats that are stable and will fish and go anywhere.

The best Kayak is the one that fits you best. You have to try them out and use them the way you intend to.
I paddle the Wilderness Ride 135 and have been for 2 years. I fish all conditions, rough seas, fast tides, high winds, and rain storms.
I stand up most of the time I fish. The Ride has a different bottom structure that allows a wide boat to track extremely well. I fish with many people on this site and I can say that there is no one who can say that the Ride will not keep up with any of them. I purchased the Ride after trying it out. I was reay to buy the Tarpon 140 but after trying the Ride and standing up in it I was convinced that it was the Kayak for me.
Try all of the Kayaks out that have scupper holes. I would not suggest any boat that is built like a canoe if you plan on open water fishing.
It may be difficult but you have to not listen to opinions of others on what boat to purchase. Try them out and make your own decision.
Wilderness is guaranteed for life and the dealers replace or repair with no questions. I can not speak for others since I have never owned one of them.
All the Kayaks above are good as to what I have heard.
Good luck on your quest.

Well again thanks for the input guys. I took your advice and paddled several yaks and have settle on a tarpon 140. It was the last one I paddled and new right away it was the one (out of those I paddled) for me.

I did like the Ultimate 14.5 but the only real pro it had for me was room for my dog if I ever wanted to take her. After deciding I did not really need to stand up.

Thanks again.
