There is a whiting tournament on the 5th of October in Jacksonville Beach. It is sponsored by The Ritz Bar and Angie's Subs. Entry Forms can be picked up there. I think it's only $10.00 and they have the weigh in at the Ritz (185 3rd Ave N. , Jacksonville Beach) and they cook up the catch and have other free food. Beers are cheap and the whole thing is alot of fun. It's pretty much a just a fun local thing they do quite a few times a year (First Tuesday of the Month) Some moths are skipped due to other commitments but the pots get to be around $300.00 depending on entrants. It started out as a something for the employee's of the places to do, because they all work weekends, and has grown to enclude patrons, locals, and everyone else. Thought I'd spread the word.
