This was my first launch at a "public" ramp and I was a little nervous. I normally head out in the intercoastal from my parents house. I was meeting Papatone8 and Mohawk17 and I didn't want to look like a complete newbie...I mean I would like to be invited back again right? Didn't happen! I look like a darn fool out there. We headed out and within the 1st 30 minutes Papatone8 had a nice beast of a red on his line. Reeled in a 24 inch. Paddled around and caught some more small reds there, and then moved on. Found another nice spot and something takes off with my line. "Yeah" I am about to land something nice! Didn't happen! Reeled in a darn STINGRAY!!! "You've got to be kidding me." I took the good advise/knowledge that I have gained on this forum and just cut the line. After that was a small jack and a 19 inch red for me. Mohawk17 had found a nice spot and was tearin up the trout...lots of fun. Then right behind him was a splash. Papatone8 paddled over got into position and landed another 24 inch red!!! You could see a lot of movement and I caught a 15/16 inch red. We started paddling back and stopped at another good spot. Were just sitting there fishing and I here a few "choice" words from Papatone8. Something grabbed his pole and took it in!!! (And you know it was not some cheap pink Shakespeare rod/real from walmart) We saw the bobber come up and I was able to snag the line with my paddle. On one end was a 19 inch red and the other...the rod. So, you could say that I had the best catch of the day...a red and a rod combo...nice :D I really had a blast today...made some new friends, caught some fish and had some great laughs.

Looks you all had a bunch of fun! I love fishing Browns Creek as there are many hot spots to hit there...

I always love catching a rod back, have had too many instances with piers and birds flying into lines. Looks like you guys had a great time!

I had a good time today fishing with you two. Brickinthemud, I mean stuckinthemud. We can go fishing anytime! Next time we go out a invite will sure be sent you way. Stuckinthe mud had two nice reds on at the same time today. It was pretty cool! One she thought was a oyster bed, but it turned out to be a hog. Like she said I caught some dink trout and a couple rat reds. One small sheephead. Cant wait to get back on the water, but have a feeling it will be a little bit before it happens with my baby about to be born any day now. Here are some pics.Image
