Caught my first red ever last weekend fishing at the Shad Creek launch. It wasn't a biggie, but it will do. Caught it on a fresh dead shrimp right along the grassline. Unfortunately I don't have a kayak yet, so I was just wading around with my brother in law. We fished there, and since the Haulover Creek area was pretty packed, we fished some more at the small bridge at Simpsons Creek. Caught a lot of toad fish, pinfish, and a spade fish. Still saving for a yak, and just purchased a raffle ticket off of IrishWaterDogs for the Emotion Kayak, so hopefully I'll be able to get out on the water soon.

I like catching catching reds no matter what size. Im always happy to see them. One of the coolest fish in my book.

One time me and a buddy were fishing in Salt Run and hadnt had much luck until we went to this one floating dock and I think we got out just because we were tired of sitting in the canoe and wanted to stretch our legs. While on the dock we noticed there were fish literally swarming underneath the thing. Ive always assuming they must have been feeding on something, growth on the floats or something that lived in the growth. They were swimming right underneath to where you could see them clear as day. All kinds of different fish. So we started fishing from this dock trying to catch these fish. The only ones we managed to get were those spade fish. But we caught a bunch and took them home for dinner. Dont know what the limits are on them, back then I didnt pay attention to such things.
