My girlfriend and I paddled out early last Saturday. We only saw 3 other boats the 6 hours we fished. Not a bunch of keepers, but we were biz all day w/ Black, and Red Drum. That place is beautiful. Princess Place Preserve is a must yak. Next time i'm going to launch at the little parking spot across from Matanzas Beach, and find out were the big ones are hiding.
Any help would be appreciated. TY :-B

Make sure you remember the path you take in there from the ICW, there are alot creeks. Don't forget to check your tides, paddling back through those creeks to A1A during an incoming tide is no fun! Good luck and there are def. some big fish over there!

It is a nice area to fish. Be careful at the launch were the construction is they are planning to seal off the whole area.

That is a great area. Also I recommend a tour thru the lodge.

I was down in the area on Sat killing some time waiting to pick my daughter up from a birthday party and drove to Princess Place Preserve to check it out, looks like a great place to fish. I was at the small ramp were there was a rack of kayaks for a tour company, is that the area that is going to be closed off for construction? I was looking at getting down there in the next week or so and wanted to make sure I was not going to waste a trip.

Lefty55-no the area that is under construction is on A1A at one of the crossover bridges near the beach before Marineland. You should have a great trip. We had 5 deer walk right up to us as we were walking on one of the trails last weekend at Princess Place.

Thanks for the info, I have put in just north of Marineland and paddled down and over but have never ventured over to the west side of the flat and the creek. Its funny that you mentioned the deer as we were leaving we came across two deer along the road that just stood there and let us snap a few pictures. I will post a report when I make it down. Thanks again.
