These fellows designed this to fit in a Hobie Sailmount on the front of their kayak for Glory Shots holding their fish. However, will it work on a Scotty for the rest of us and the answer is yes, the 360 Gear Mount will fit in the Scotty. Here is a demo of the 360 Gear Mount and how well it stays in the Scotty Mount. Its a great deal for $24.95

PS. I shot the video with my Droid X. Not bad for a camera phone.

Suber,
can the shaft be cut down & still fit in the Scotty mount? What color is the LED light...I get the impression it's red?? If so, do they offer a white LED light???

Thanx..................

The shaft can be cut down. Cast the Flats can also ship a precut 360 Gear Mount. When ordering, just give us an idea of where you will use it and on what kind of kayak. We already have them precut for Wilderness boats with Scotty mounts on a slide track. It will also work on virtually any type of Scotty Mount. We are currently working on a fit for RAM mounts as well.
All of the Life Gear lights come with a white LED flashlight beam. The glow portion of the light ships in standard red or blue. FWC law states the only mandatory light on unpowered vessels less than 23 feet must be a directional white beam(flashlight) to use for signaling purposes when notifying other craft of your presence.
Hope this inflo helps!
Jason

Jason,
hell of a product you guys came up with!! :thumbleft:

FYI- If anybody wants the glow shaft to be white, so they can use it as a "legal" kayak marker light, all you need to do is unscrew the glow light shaft, remove the battery holder, flip it and re-install (this is also how you replace the batteries). This will make the flashlight red & the glow light white!
These Life Gear lights also come with lifetime free battery replacement!! :thumbright:

I got mine in the mail the other day and I like it alot. The last couple of post I put up I was using it. It looks clean and well put to gether as well, not like plumbing is your first job or you know someone who works in the pvc section of Lowes. LOL The best part about it is it is functional yet useful and doesn't cost a fortune!! Great product built by kayak fisherman for kayak fisherman!!!!

If you think I'm saying this just cause I like Jason, well that ain't true were are in the throws of a knock down drag out fight on kayak wars right now, and besides if I had to pick I like the other brother better!!! LOL

Chappy
