I have a simple but perplexing question... :?:

My goal is to take a Prowler BIG Game and install a "Rod Pod" in place of the cockpit tray.
 ...I'm thinking about exchanging RodPod w/storage tray from an OK Prowler/Trident Angler edition...(?)

:dontknow: Does anyone know if the dimensions are different...or will it fit exactly the same??

There is $100 for fastest/correct answer!
*Disclaimer: In the case of an actual winner....Ask President Obama for it....because I really don't have it!....sorry (hehehe)

Send me the measurements. You may get a Rodpod lid for cheap! Think I will upgrade to the new one offered on the new 2011 Trident Anglers.

i have a big game as well, i belive that they are different. The big game cover is narrower than the others. There is a blog, ill post it when i find it, about someone cutting out the center just under the cover and making a make shift "rod Pod." I'm a little nervous about doing this.

The RodPod that fits the current Trident (Prowler-T) 11/13/15 will not fit the Prowler Big Game.
I would contact Ocean Kayak to see if they or any of their dealers have any left over Big Game lids.

You might also want to consider the cockpit hatch for thr Big Game-

Thanks for the info so far. (Keep em coming if you got ideas)

dryclnr - Why would you be nervous about doing this? I can't think of any 'negatives' to this idea. (I'm simply creating more/easier/quicker access, and it doesn't compromise any of the structual integrity).

DP234 - How sure are you that it doesn't fit?.....why?
FYI I definately want the optional square hatch...but, I also want the RodPod w/ storage tray.

I like the WIDTH of the square hatch because of access to gear...but, I prefer the looong/RodPod for easier access to rod&reels.

:study:

"DP234 - How sure are you that it doesn't fit?.....why?"

Length and width of the tray area is larger on the Tridents & Ocean Kayak told me so.... :smoke:

FYI- I contacted Ocean Kayak, the lid for the Big Game RodPod is no longer made and no longer stocked. No backstock at Appomattox River Company (Va.) or Austin Canoe & Kayak (Tx.) either....sorry!

 .....(I'm reluctantly processing that information)...
:blackeye: :blackeye: :blackeye: okay, now I got it!
:cussing:  that does NOT fit into my plans.
??Can I choose a different answer from behind door #2 ?
Just kidding.

:thumbright: Thanks for the info DP234.
My goal was to go all out on the BIG Game and then add options from the OK PT 13angler edition...But, not as much as Dominick Greco - thats just tooooo much! (I noticed his on the OK site, when I click on Big Game, there was "see how others outfitted their angler editions").

That is one BIG MONSTER yak!

:thumbright: thanks again.

Don't give up yet! :D
Check with your local plastic manufactures, I'm sure you could get a smoked plexiglass or lexan sheet formed to copy the lid, then you would add the watertight seal and cup holder.
Or...contact a fiberglass repair, I'm sure they could replicate the lid no problem!
Both results would probably be sturdier than the original! :thumbleft:

that is very cool mod! You could probably do that to a stock rodpod lid too!
