Was at SML by 5:45 am and felt like I lost the worm when I saw three trucks already parked and unloaded when I drove up. Someone other than myself actually knew it was going to get hot today and got out early, yakers of coarse.
With the exception of a few crabs, I fished with relentless effort for the next five hours without so much as a gnat bite. Then it just happened, I was fishing the grass line in front of me with a spinner bait and a half crab behind me on a round reel. The rod behind me went over but not in a hurry. Slow like a gator found it. As soon as I put a little pressure on him he swam away as if so what. He must have taken 25 yards before I get him to stop. It seemed like hours before I finally got him up and in the canoe. This is the largest fish I have caught at Guana.(12#fireline, 30#fc)
BTW, met Hammerhead at the ramp, thanks for the beer and the pics, see ya on the water, TL.

big fish, C.

Sometimes playing roaster and toaster out in the yak pays off. Great looking drum and I'm sure those five hours of hot cooled off real quick when that beast met the grippers.
