I've had my girls down from Atlanta all week and with temps hovering around 98º with high humidity it's just been too hot to get out. The girls said they wanted to go fishing and the temps were supposed to drop today but when I woke up at 4:00 am and checked the temp it was already 84º with 82% humidity. Wasn't too sure about going out but when they got up they said they wanted to give it a try so we loaded up the yaks and headed on over to Jekyll. I was going to try a new sheepshead hole for me but we got out there too late to find the spot.
With fish already in the freezer and not wanting to work too hard due to the heat we hit an area I knew would produce some line pulling on light gear. Sure enough, not long after we threw out our bait the parade started. Bethany was first with this little guy on a mud minnow...

And she ended up catching four about the same size on the same mud minnow...

Me unhooking another one for her...

Brianna with one of the ones she caught...

She was using an ultralight rod and the thing almost spooled her.

This little black tip was a blast to catch. As soon as it was hooked it came up out of the water spinning. The girls were like "What's that?!" I told them to watch and sure enough he came out of the water spinning about five different times...

All in all we landed over twelve little sharks and they kept our morning and afternoon busy. If you ever want a fun trip for the kids hit me up. There's a nice little spot on Jekyll that is pretty much assured to get you some screaming drags on light gear.
