BETTER NEWS!!! SEVERAL OF US ARE STILL GOING FISHING OVER AT CEDAR KEY!!
We gave it the "old college try", but it just did not happen, but we hope to give it a shot next year....maybe in the Spring??

(1) The GOOD news is that we exposed the great little town of Cedar Key to over 8,000 people in more than six states and to 18+ kayak fishing websites!! Love to know what future business that creates for the town and their local merchants and Chamber Members!!

(2) The BETTER NEWS is that several of us are planning a Non-Tourney Fishing Trip that same weekend on Sept 17-20th!! So far there are 3-4 couples plus me heading over there. I am certain that ShellMoundAl from Gainesville and Aaron from Chiefland will join us also...
So far, we have 4 cottages reserved at Pirates Cove, and it might be 5 by the end of today!! If we grow it bigger, we'll get the Low Key Motel and the Kingfisher involved too since I met or talked to those folks too!! All three have offered us discounted rates!!

I look forward to seeing some of you all again next month....JohnYaksJax

Hi Kayak Fisherfolks, This is Kayak Tom's wife from over here in Cedar Key. I guess we won't see Jae anymore. He used to rent fishing kayaks form Tom and now I will go hungry! Jae fished all the time. I had a 14' Wilderness like the Tarpon without the fishing package. I loved it! I am very happy for you Jae and hope you will still stop in and say "hi" to Tom. billabong comes over here too. He is a neighbor in Chiefland. You two ought to get together. JohnYaksJax and some fellows are coming over and having a fishing get together on the 18th anyway! I know they would say the more, the merrier so get in touch with John if you have any questions. I am sorry for the let down on the tourney by Cedar Key but I worked with a fishing captain for a few years and you can catch some fish in these shallow waters around the island. Watch out for the tides and oyster bars. I fished once (I mean one time only) and caught a redfish with a hook, shrimp and a weight. From shore! My 2 brothers are avid fisherman so I know how you guys are. Please feel free to stop by and see Tom when you are in town and if you have never been here, you need to come at least once. You will love it or hate it. Not too many in betweens! NOT a beach town. Jax has beautiful beaches! Great fishing, I hear about though.
