Decided to try something different. Left early this morning with nothing but artificials. The tide wasn't great so my main goal to be back home before the wife woke up. Got to the launch at sunrise and thought twice about putting in since there was thunder in the distance and lightning in the air. I knew the Mrs. War Eagle would be ticked if I got struck by lightning and messed up her plans. Waited about 20 minutes and as the sun came up I realized the storm was headed away from me. I launched and started throwing top water. After 20 minutes I laid down the topwater and switched to a gulp curly tail and immediately caught a 17" red. 10 minutes later BAM! Fight on!

Personal Best 28"
Of course this would be the day I left my photo board at home. So I took a quick picture and set her free to spread the karma.
Caught another 19 inch trout later. Along with some rat reds. Best fight of the day was a huge jack that I hooked and got boat side before it popped the leader.
All in all a great day, plus I got home as planned. Now off to the golf course with the wife. Life is good.
