Hey nopants......Who cares about $300 if you can afford a $2,400 kayak???? LOL!!
JYJ

PS: Is the total # of these VERY NICE Kaskazi Dorados in this website now up the three??? Think so??? Sales and Marketing 101 says that you can sell a million of $1 widgets, but you only need to sell 1,000 if they are priced at $1,000....and you will make more profit too!!
Nuthin' wrong with that....

Bet more Pro Angler kayaks are sold than Kaskazi Dorado's. Think they are about the same price :stir:

I sure would hope so; Kaskazi Kayaks is a Cape Town, South Africa based family owned business producing hand made fiberglass kayaks, that are imported by one distributor in the southeastern United States.
Hobies are a production line produced plastic roto-molded pedal driven battleship (PA Angler), sold through a large nationwide retail network.

Hobie PA Angler- $2,399 + Shipping
Kaskazi Dorado II- $1,985 + Shipping

Your trying to compare a Ford F-350 to a BMW.........wanna race? :thumbright:

FireDog, that $1,985 is shipping included not in addition to. :)

As far as someone saying they'd take the PA, that just means they've never paddled a dorado to see how superior it is to any poly fishing yak with regards to performance out on the water. There is absolutely no comparison. In my old WS Tarpon 160i, I could tow my wife behind me on her Phoenix 160 and pass a Hobie Revo and keep up with a Hobie Adventure. The dorado blows away my 160i in handling and speed. The dorado is a far superior performer and a much safer kayak.

I think is says something about Hobie and how they stick it to the customer when I can buy a fiberglass Kaskazi kayak directly from South Africa and have it shipped to Jax for less than a poly barge sold here by a US company.

It's kind of like a guy's choice in women. Some guys like sleek and sexy whereas in the kayak fishing community there seems to be quite a few chubby chasers around. :D

Whoa guys! We are talking one sleek, sexy, and great performing kayak vs. a heavy barge microskiff, not diesel dragsters. You guys are way off the point on this one.

Would you rather be in a kayak where you can take a newbie with three hours of paddling experience and have him do this off a 10'-12' swell...

Image

Or be in a microskiff that gets hit broadside by a 2'-3' wave and end up having to get a boat to tow you back?

Image

You guys can choose. I know the choice I've already made, and there ain't no fords nor BMW's involved. :D
