Rod and I hit the HighBridge (our favorite spot) and started the day with a couple middle slot Reds on top water , Rod Hooked up with something big on a DOA but came unhooked he redeemed him self later with a 28" trout on a MirrOdine , his second Gator trout in a couple of weeks and it was caught in the same spot as his last one which was 30". The Reds are on the flats heavy but still no Snook bite. The tides are low we had to get out and drag the kayaks across two areas to get back out of are spots because of the tide level. I have some catching up to do I can't let Rod get to far ahead of me on the Big fish count.

Some people might have more class as to keep a fish that size, hopefully your pal let the 30"er go. Those are big time breeders with great genetics. There's a reason that legally you can only take one over 20" how about taking matters into your own hands and take none. I highly doubt he's that hard up for sustenance.

Im sure i'll get an earful but anyone with any knowledge of conservation will agree.

One of the rules on this website is that we don't crit anyone who legally keeps a fish. You don't even know if he kept it or not but are pointing fingers at him and his buddy.

Those are some great fish you caught

Me Classy :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: :bootyshake: However , it seems someone always wants to beat up on me or someone like Rod when we keep a fish. Speaking for my self I probably release 98% of the fish I catch unless I know someone wants it or needs it, but nobody says what a great job when I let all of those fish go. As for Rod , I can say pretty much the same thing. I have very seldom seen him keep fish but when he does Wow someone has to talk bad about him. If you were to meet him he would probably be one of the classiest guys on the water, I know several people from this forum who would say the same.

Rod IS one of the classiest guys I have ever met! He was the first person I met from this Club and the first kayaker I met when I got into the sport. He showed me ropes and even showed me some of his hotspots! He has put his time in and paid for his licences, so Rod keep as many as you want to my friend! And GREAT FISH!!!!!

Hey Herby and mjp0506......I have to chime in and say that I met Rod down at Highbridge back on the flats and when he paddled by me he recognized me and we chatted for about 20 minutes!! Later, I paddled back toward the launch and I saw Rod at "Rod's Spot", and he pointed to a spot down a cut and said to fish there....so I did and caught three SNOOK!! Now, that is an unselfish guy if I ever saw one!! Thx, Rod!!

PS: This newbie "fishjohnny" has done NOTHING positive in here!! All that he has done in his 15+ posts is to judge and criticize people, and I think "management" ought to consider banning him from further posts!!!
