Hi

On behalf of the UK OK Kayak Fishing Team I just wanted to pass on our thanks to everyone for making us so welcome during the tournament. We made it back to the not so warm UK without any volcano delays (unfortunately) and we are now wading through the pictures and will put up a more comprehensive report later.

The competition really does set the standard and we will be looking to "borrow" some of your ideas for future UK competitions. Everyone involved should take a major pat on the back.

We were particularly impressed with the overall organisation (well done Mike and co) and the friendly but competitive atmosphere the event has evolved.

Without getting over patronising (and Oscar speech like) all the competitors and organisers we met were a credit to the sport. We got some great advice, thanks.

I personally found out how to fish your "skinny" waters a day too late and ended up spilling blood in the name of "Kayak Fishing" but it was all worth it. (Stitches are out next week but thats another story :? :D )

Either Starvinmarvin or myself will post a full report soon but you never know we may be back next year, hopefully with a fish or two for the weigh in. ;)

Again many thanks.

Paul

Glad you folks had a great time. I was nice to meet you all and hopefully you'll have some great memories to share with the folks over there.

I'll second that Darnsarf. The reason I love kayak fishing so much is the comraderie, kayak fishing breaks down boundries and helps make so many friendships.

To everyone that came up and had a chat and helped make us so welcome, thank you.

Mike, you should be very proud of yourself and your team for producing such an awesome event, I can't imagine the hours that you must put in, but from my point of view, its worth it, to see all those people in the hall was increadible.

JohnJaxYaks, thanks for all your help leading up to the event, all the PMs and advice, so sorry we didn't get to fish together, I've still got some lures in my bag for you, let me know your address and I'll get them too you, had them for you in my pocket on Saturday evening, but some how missed you.

Thank you to Andy for spending the time with me on Tournament day, didn't get that Red on the fly, but we tried and got close a couple of times.

Rick and the guys at Strike Zone, thanks for taking care of our yaks and sparing the time to chat with us.

Big thank you to the gators who decided that I was too small to eat, we saw far too many and they were far to close for comfort

Finally thank you to my buddies who put up with my snorring for a week and only throwing a pillow at me :D

SM :)

Glad you guys were able to make the trip over the "big pond" to the Classic.
Because of awesome kayak fishermen like yourselves, the Classic became an international event. :thumbleft:

It was Great to meet all of you!!! :)
