Cobia and kings are in my area as I type this.

Live bait is best, the bigger the better. I like using Bluefish, or Whiting.
I rarely fish the bait pods. I catch the larger Kings, in close to the beach.
The smaller snakes seem to like the deeper water.

Yesterday,(saturday) i took my yak out in the ocean off of my beach house in vilano beach perfect offshore wind to fish in the ocean. Found the schools of pogi that were perfect hand size bait. they were in pods of thousands getting lit up by blues and sharks. ill i could catch was big sand and black tip sharks and allot of blues. I think in two weeks once the water breaksa the 80 degree mark will see some kings but you got to punch it through those sharks and blues. I had a bunch of blues get hammered by big sharks. Im anticipating some other species next time.
