Mike (MJP) and myself decided to hit the water early this morning while the wind was at a minimum and try to get some sight fishing in. After 5 minutes of polling around we found a small school of reds. Mike gets the first cast throwing a top water; I saw this red come up and hit it, but wouldn't commit. A few seconds later the same red hits the lure again, but no commitment. Of course I didn't have my rod ready, I forgot to put the paddle tail on

! Right after I got the paddle tail on, the school split into two and we followed the school to the left and then they diapered just as quick as the appeared. The other school was no were to be found

After a couple hours of polling around and seeing about 1 Million mullet we decided to try to fish some holes in a different area. Within the first few cast we about 3 or 4 rat Reds, so it's a start and the skunks are out of the boats

!
Then a few cast later Mike hooks into something that was digging deep and putting up a pretty decent fight and pulled in this 15" Black Drum.

Mike in action

All in all it was a beautiful day on the water and couldn't ask for much better weather.
Total tally for the day: 20-30 Reds between 15-19.5" inches and 1 15" Black Drum.
