Looking to purchase a Kayak for fly fishing, any recommendations from you seasoned experts. Paddle or peddel? Make Model length preferred. Pros Cons. Thanks for your time.

How about a Wavewalk W500. The only boat you can sit stand in, sit in, and paddle either way. It's my favorite :D the website is http://www.wavewalk.com and their are a few of us here that use them. For stand up fishing it is way ahead of anything close to it in size.

Without any specifics, I would recommend you come by and try out all of the boats we stock
With a 22 acre lake behind the store you can try them all out.
If you give me your height weight and where you want to use it I can make a specific recommendation

Thanks

I tried several Kayaks before I decided on the right one. I wanted a boat that I could paddle fast, stand up in, and have ease of transport. I also wanted one that was wide and roomy.
I had decided on the one that I was going to buy but when I went to the demo I ended up with the perfect kayak for me. I purchased a Wilderness Ride 135.

It is fast, easy to paddle, pleanty of room, and I am 63 and stand up to do most of my fishing.

That does not mean that this kayak is perfect for you but before you purchase anything try this one.

If you can make it to Black Creek Outfitters, I highly recommend it. They will drag as many kayaks as you desire to demo on their lake without pressuring you to buy them. Their customer service is second to none. I went there several times to demo various brands, types and lengths of kayaks before I purchased my Hobie Outback from them. During the various demos, I changed my mind several times. Ultimately the kayak I had in mind when I first arrived for the demos was not the one I purchased after demoing several others. If you spend some time on the site you will notice that there are many different kayaks utilized by the members on the site and most are happy with their yaks. Many got their on there first purchase while some purchased several before they found the right one for them. The demo process is key in making an educated decision on the kayak that best fits your needs. What works well for some may not work best for you as there are several factors to consider. You should analyze how you plan to use it, how you will transport it, pedal or paddle, storage, stability/tracking etc... There will probably be some compromises along the way. There is comfort in knowing that if you are not happy with your original purchase you can always list it in the classifieds on this great site and it will usually sell quickly for a decent price. Good luck with your decision.
