We are hositng the spot at Pottsberg Creek boat Ramp next to the shop. It is the 3 rd year that we have joined together with the City and The River keepers to help clean up the water ways of the St. Johns here in Jacksonville.
From 8 am till 10am we will be launching kayaks and canoes to clean the banks of Pottsberg Creek. I have a limited # of Kayaks we will be letting people use for FREE that do not have there own. For the kids this is a community event so they will be getting documentaion for there hours, Scouts can get 2 badges. I made up some fun awards certificates also to be given out at the end. Those wanting a t shirt and lunch can go afterwards to Metro Park to collect them plus a band will be playing.
This has been a really fun event the last few years and some of the stuff we have pulled from the river is amazing..... hot water heater, complete basketball backboard and poles, bikes, shopping carts, of course tires and even a small sunk boat.
Hope to see some of you guys out here...... bags and gloves are furnished. No excuses the River needs YOU!
