Cabin Fever had truly set in on both Me and Dustan, so we decided to brave the small craft advisory, and hit Village Creek in the Kayaks on Saturday Morning.
We launched about 0930, and set to throwing various lures. The wind was bad, the currents were strong, and the fish were uncooperative, to say the least. We tried it all, but all we managed were one Trout, one Flounder, and a helluva big something that I lost after a 4-5 minute fight.
Here's the pics...
Doin' the Trout Stretch...

And a picture of me, taking a picture...

Here's the one I was taking in the other one..

And Dustan got a nice Flounder...

Well, that was IT, for Day One....
Day two found us not really feeling heading back to The Coast, just to get punished by the wind all day, so at the suggestion of my Gal Ronnie, at dinner, we decided to try a couple of local ponds, for some light tackle Bass action....
We hit the jackpot, catching about 25 fish between us. Most were 12"-ers, but we had a ball on ultra-light tackle, and the couple of good fish I got were quite a handful...I had left my camera at home, so Dustan kinda got screwed, in the photo op department, but here are some of my catches...

Not a bad day at all, I had almost forgotten how much fun Bassin' can be...
Dustan had to head back to Atlanta, and back to work, but I wound up with another couple of days off...
After coffee on Tuesday, Me and Ronnie decided to head back to The Coast, for a little surf fishing. It was just too nice of a day to sit at home, wondering if the fish were biting....
We arrived at the beach about noon, and found a STRONG N/S current, and muddy water. After the first casts washed up on the beach, we decided to head for The Sound, where we could at least get out of the wind, and find some cleaner water....
From about 13:30 till 16:00, Here's what happened...

It was a NICE day for sittin' and waitin' though, so I decided to wait it out, until dead low tide, and see if anything would happen.
About 16:30, the Whiting started biting, and I ended up with six that I kept...

My little step-daughter Tinker, enjoys fishing very much....

Once we got home, I stopped by Ronnie's Dad's place, and offered him the six Whiting. I was kinda hoping that he'd decline, so I could keep 'em for baits....
He said he'd save me the heads...
I soaked a big casted bait all day, in hopes of an early Shark or big Redfish, but it never even got touched. That half a mullet looked as good after a four hour soak as it did when I flung it out there...Never even got touched.
The new St. Croix Mojo's performed beautifully, I REALLY like these rods.
So with Cabin Fever at bay, I'll now wait for the action to get a little more heated up...
