I'm still sans camera. :angryfire: My Canon D10 waterproof camera filled up with water when the seal opened. I think the seal wasn't locked, rather salt-crusted shut. It opened when I was taking some underwater shots and....zap...dead. It's with Canon now - hopefully they'll replace it.

My plan was to paddle to my Speck spot at first light, but after getting home at 2am last night, plans changed just a bit. Didn't get out until about 8am. Since I didn't have my camera, here's some pics of the baits I used.

Top Pup

Caught two Cravalle at the same time with the Top Pup.....this was a first for me. They were hanging on to each end of the lure like two dogs fighting over a fan belt.

Bomber Pop-n-Minnow

Bloop...Bloop...POW! Big Barracuda on a popper....too much fun

The rest were caught on Zoom Flukes

All in all:
3 Trout
10 Crevalle
8 Barracuda
1 Blue Runner
1 Leatherjack
...and the BIGGEST Pinfish I've ever seen...it was Sheepshead sized....I've never seen anything like it. I'm guessing a little over a pound.

Still trying to get a Trout over 19.5''...I know there's a gator out there for me somewhere. Today's biggest was 2.5lbs.

Sounds like a fun day on the water! Except for the camera leak...
Also, I love the "4 Stages of Fishing" at the end of your post. Funny AND true!

Nice day of fishing with some great results. You must have had a much less windy day down there than we had. I love trying new lures and catching those first fish on them. I loaded up on some new lures at the Strike Zone sidewalk sale this weekend since it was too windy to fish. You can't beat 40% off their clearance prices. New Mirrolures were something like $1.80. In fact I picked up the same top pup you have pictures. Great fishing day for you....congrats!

Key Biscayne....I have a little spot off the beach that always produces Trout....can't fish from the beach there and too shallow for boats...it's my private honey hole!

Love sales for lures. Fish don't know what you paid for the bait. Looks like a great day on the water based on fishy lure shots :D . Nice.
