You can prepare for the cold, but I would postpone until the wind settles down . . .

... LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSONVILLE HAS ISSUED A LAKE WIND ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM EST THIS EVENING.

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE MID ATLANTIC WILL COMBINE WITH HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO TO CREATE WINDY CONDITIONS TODAY. BY 10 AM... WINDS SUSTAINED AT 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 35 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 25 MPH OR GUSTS OF 30 TO 39 MPH ARE EXPECTED. SMALL BOATS WILL BE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO CAPSIZING. BOATERS IN THE ADVISORY AREA SHOULD AVOID OPEN WATER AND STAY CLOSE TO SHORE IN WIND PROTECTED INLETS. HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING AS WELL.

You might roast in a wetsuit. I would go with layers with maybe some waders. This time of the year it might be in the 40's when you launch, but will be in the 70's at noon.

I went out at Mill Cove from 830 till about 1130 this morning. Started out sunny and no wind. Got cooler later with the clouds but not bad at all. By the time I left though the wind was starting to whip pretty hard. The water was actually not to bad temp wise..

Excuse me, I don't mean to hijack this thread but I have a related question.

I have some vinyle pants with stocking feet. Will that along with blue jeans be warm enough or should I consider thermals.

If not, what is an alternative other than waders.
