Any suggestions? I'll probably fish Brown's Creek.

Ken and I will be traveling together for the tournament.
I am more excited about meeting you guys than I am the fishing. :bounce:
This forum is well managed. If you don't understand what I am talking about go to other fishing websites and read the garbarge that goes out to the readers.
This site gives me increadible information and hours of laughs without having to read stupid comments. :drunken:
I feel that I know many of you and yet I have only fished with 3 members in the past year.
What a great time for all and what a great time for sharing knowledge, equipment, rigging, and stories from the well experienced to the novice.
When I was younger I taught "Hunt Seat" Hunter Jumpers and I told all my students;"It's not how may years you have ridden it is how many hours you spend in the saddle."
For you novice kayakers, the more time you spend in the Yak the better fisherman you will become. :)
Look forward to a great time. :salute:

Al - I hope we can meet up at the tourney and do a little fishin' together!

Not to derail this thread, because I really do need to know where to stay, but I cannot agree more with your statement quoted above. In addition to the selfless willingness to help others that the members on this board has provided me in the last year, it's the respect for quality in posting that impresses me. This respect for quality extends in particular to:

1. The english language. I'm not a "wordsmith" by any means, but it's nice to see actual sentences strung together. Maybe it's a generational thing - texting is the beginning of the end. I learned this the first time I interviewed recent college graduates for a position and saw how they wrote. Yikes. Again, hop on some other sites and you'll see the difference.

2. Kindness towards others. There's a general "meanness" associated with anonymity. Take a look at the comments/flame wars of any news article or youtube video and you'll see what I mean. Heck, I didn't even know that I was gay until some stranger pointed it out to me by posting a comment to one of my youtube videos, in which he told me I "catch fish like a fa%". (I've since disallowed comments on my youtube videos).

Anyway, sorry for the aside there...but thanks to all and I look forward to meeting a bunch of you at the tourney. As my one and only year in FL comes to an end, I can truly say I "learned how to fish Florida", and most of it was from input from users on this board.

Depends on whether you'd rather be near where you want to fish or closer to places to eat etc.

In the comments above they were bragging about how considerate and great people were on this site. So what happens - Dropshot steps up and makes some sarcastic comment about one of his elders :wheelchair: Your bounced off the website Dropshot as we can't have those nasty comments on here.

Plus, being the elder, you need to be kind as after I kick the bucket in couple years they will be calling the Classic the IS2K1 Memorial Tournament

You don't need lodging if you're doing the "Gold Club". Captains meeting Friday night, Gold Club after, then to Denny's for breakfast, then on to Snake Creek Gulch (Simpsons)
