I was out today in a little 13' Gheenoe toady and a Couple of kayakers said "we like to play in wake" So I said I'll throw 'ya some ... Full throttle peeled a tight turn right next to them ... I was as suprised as they were ... No big Whoop LOL

It'a all good we can all play togather :-)

Dave

Getting waked in a yak can be interesting. Last summer I had an idiot in a cruser just north of Genung's coming zooming under the bridge without any concern for the posted no wake zone. Even in my Wavewalk W500 which sits high in the water he managed a wake taller than me. I was water walled on both sides to the point one of his passengers throught they had swamped me. Of course they came off plane and spun around (that was exciting) to check. It was an older guy drving obviously trying to impress a load of much younger ladies. I was fine and he was really very apologetic. Hmm I guess the thrill of speed and tanned deck bunnies just got to him.

Next time a kayaker wants to play in a wake, tell him to go to the ocean............

I really dont find any humor in reckless operation of a watercraft..........

If it was agreed between the boater and the kayakers... no problem. Probably doesn't set a good example for others

Agreed or not.. Not very smart.
When someone ACCIDENTALLY gets injured or killed, then folks stand around being sorry and looking stupid.

My rule is: You can play and put your life in danger all you want. But when you involve ME in your foolishness, then you place my life in harm.... If you endanger my life in any way, shape, form or fashion, BE READY!! And it aint gonna be pretty. PERIOD.

A couple of years ago I "responded" to 2 jet skiers who were just having "fun" trying to jump each others wakes when 1 messed up and hit the other head on. He died just south of the beach blvd bridge near the marsh. it take less then 1 second to make a mistake that will last a lifetime. fun or not, think safety first!

What does new laws have to do with this???
New laws will not help stupidity, and unfortunately it lasts a lifetime on some folks.

Mykisa, perhaps you should have included a definition of sarcasm with your post.
