RLend, Copout, and I went out to a favorite area to enjoy an absolutely beautiful day. We started off splitting up each fishing in a different spot to see where the fish were biting. I started off getting several hits but could not get hooked up on anything. A short while later, the bite turned on when I hooked up with a very nice 21-22" sheephead. That was followed by two nice black drum (21" also) in about a 35-45 minute timeframe. I then called over RLend and Copout to let them join in the fun when the bite COMPLETELY crashed. JYJ showed up a few minutes later to join in the watching and waiting.

Although the rest of the day did not result in any more fish for me, or bites for that matter, the brief window they were biting paid off very well.

Hope the weather we are having now sticks around for awhile. I've been waiting for it all winter.

It was nice today and I wish there had been time for the water. Maybe tomorrow. Great looking fish.

Nice fish Troy! You were the only one to keep the herd of skunks away today. Good weather, great company but rough fishing.

Many thanks to Roaddog, RLend, and Copout for the invitation to fish "north of Heckscher"....

Roaddog...thanks for including those pix, since I did not see a fish all day from that location, until just now!!
Those are very nice...esp. the sheepie!!

Dreads joined us briefly on his "maiden voyage" in his new Native U-14. He looked really good in it, but unfortunately did not get it slimed yet!!

Cannot believe that four of us got skunked the same day at the same place...but...I'll give it another shot sometime!!

PS: Nice to meet and chat with Copout for awhile too....

Again, my thanks goes to RLend, and Roaddog for the invite. It was a beautiful day on the water and I got to meet JYJ and Dreads. Too bad the skunk decided to come sit on us! I am sure this was the first of many trips to come.

Looks like you guys got into some nice fish there. I'm not going to loose any sleep over Dreads not sliming his new yak the first time out!!! He probably had his limit in the box and didn't want John to tell everyone on the board. LOL :-B Very Nice Sheephead. Those things elude me. Well I don't have the best trait in the world for catching them Patience and the phsychic ability to lift and set the hook before they suck my hook clean. Oh well.
