Saw on the news where they captured a 11 foot python snake. One that big could squeeze the p*** right out of you. They are getting so plentiful that they have opened a hunting season on pythons in FL. This ought to worry our friends from over the big pond who are coming to fish the tourney  Don't worry guys, they are only found south of Jacksonville.... way south

Yep, whats sad is that they are here to stay, and they can live as far north as the carolinas.

Don't worry about the pythons or gators, beware of the anacondas!

Check out the link below. 12 foot anaconda captured in Osceola County recently.

I find it funny that the python season is now open and you need a $26 "Tag" to hunt them. Don't you think that they should PAY someone to get rid of these things? I come across a Python, Boa, Anaconda or anything resembling one in my path, "NO PERMIT REQUIRED"! :sniper:

I'm surprised no one has posted the pic yet of the python down in the everglades that basically exploded because it swallowed a six foot gator.

I agree with OPHarbor ,Believe me when I say if I ever see one, I wont worry about a license. I always thought you did not need to have a season to kill a animal that is not native to Florida.

My biggest concern if I were to run into one of them would be how quick I could get the f*** out of there. Snakes scare the H out of me. That's why I haven't fished Simpson's lately.

Watched a program last week or so and they said they are being found all the way up to SC. They did experiment and the cold weather in SC didnt kill them like they think it would. Scary as it can be!

I quote :

Diet: Carnivore. Although the anaconda poses a danger to humans, they usually prey on fish or animals that get near the water.

Oh my!

When I went to 10,000 a few weeks ago the Rangers said durning the cold weather they captured several large snakes hanging in trees trying to get warm.
They said that the snakes were so cold that they were of no threat to them.
I have no idea of how many they captured but it seemed to be alot of them.
They were also thankful of the cold weather because of all the loss of life to the Iguians.
I was surprised to hear them speek of death being a good thing but they said that any animal that is not native to that area should be gone.
