I do not like the newer Ocean Kayak "Big Game" or "Prowler/Trident" models....as much as the Big Game edition I saw on display last year at Strike-Zone. (I really liked that one because it had a BIGGER hatch in front of the seat). Does anyone know the model I am talking about?

I am researching/planning on buying that particular one and would like to know where/how can I find it?

Thank you in advance, for any info you can help me with? :salute:

When I bought my OK Big Game from Strike Zone, it didn't come with the large rectangular hatch that is just in front of the seat. That was an add-on. They sold the base model, and I added the center hatch and flush mount rod holders. If you like the Big Game Angler edition, I would suggest calling up Strike Zone and talking to Brian.

JagYahR...When did you buy your BIG Game?
How do you like it so far?
The one I saw on display wa about 12-18 months ago and [u]already[u] had the larger rectangular hatch added...(that's how I knew about it)

Does anyone here know if Big-Game is the ONLY model with a BIG HATCH?

*FYI-I am preferring the BIG hatch access because I intend on using it for storing extra gear during camping/fishing trips. Since I am only 160lbs and 6'-1"...I figure it will handle extra weight of my gear with NO problem.

If you want a big hatch right in front of you, check out the malibu x factor, extreme, and stealth models as well.

Thanks so far JagYakr and GASMAN...
I just researched the Malibu site and like their Extreme model.

Now, after comparing the Extreme vs. the Big-Game...It seems the Big-Game has a 'lower' and 'more open' floor space. (Wouldn't this be a better place to handle a fish [red, trout, flounder] after being caught...?)

Also, I saw the posting last week from KayakMike about the 'stainless steel' fish stringer...I liked it but, have concerns about other/bigger fish coming after my catch, and then tipping my Kayak! :blackeye:
(I'm sure it has already been asked before but, how frequent does this happen to anyone who uses such a device??)

Intercoastal vs. Beach areas?
