Took the day off to chase some of those Black Drum I have been reading about, caught just about everything else with my dead shrimp, including a legal slam, but did not catch any slot black drums. Count for the day: two slot reds (18 and 22), three 15-16 inch trout, and one 16 inch flounder. Beautiful day.

Nice day to be out on the water. Looks like you were rewarded with some nice fish.

Dang, Joe; it's a shame you had to contend with all those "trash fish" and couldn't hook even one single black drum... :rotf: :D

Nice catch! :-B

I'll take a slam any day. Good job man. Better than being at work. :thumbright:

believe me, I was NOT disappointed! 6 legal fish on a trip is a darn good day for me! I was surprised that the flounder hit that dead shrimp that I was slowly working near an oyster bar....felt like a twig till he realized he was two feet from the boat then he took off...

The redfish tried to escape several times from my cooler, even jumped through the small velcro hatch of my softside cooler but ended up on the deck of the malibu where I quickly grabbed him....probably should have let him go after that amazing effort, and even thought about it, but it had been out of the water so long I figured he was doomed anyway......
