What a great day with some SUPER FISHING BUDS!!!!
First of all, Happy Birthday #60 to Joe/GA.....he hung tuff all day with the beginnings of a bad cold, and caught a BUNCH of fish on his first trip out for awhile!!! Congrats, Joe/GA!!!
TexJaxYaks/Brent is a really nice young man, is a great athlete in H.S., and one heck of a fisherman!! Now, we need to get his father, Bruce, out there with us next trip!!! Brent wound up with the biggest black drum of the day at 20"...just edged my 19.5" one early in the day!!
Peter@Jax had a fine day in that pretty GREEN kayak...my first time to fish with him, but NOT my last!!! Peter got "a little wet" at the takeout in the mud and muck, but he kept laughing!! Pete...very nice pix and that one of Mudfish with his "double" is great!!
Mudfish/Jim....One of my normal fishing partners had about 25 black drum today out there!! Thanks Jim for starting this Fishing Report and for including a picture of each of us!!!
The FIVE of us actually caught 100+ black drum today...maybe more!!! Three big rat reds decided to eat also, but NOT on my offerings, and we caught NO trout or flatties today....????
All my fish were caught on live or fresh dead shrimp piece on the bottom, or "Krab-k-bobs" with fiddlers, or even a piece of shrimp tipped with one fiddler on the point of the hook!!
It was VERY WINDY today out there....much more than the "weather guessers" predicted, but it was actually pretty warm when you hid in a "lee area" during the low tide...and it was a LOW TIDE!!!! Getting back to the launch/ramp and out of the water was quite a chore!!
Really a fun fishing trip with a super crew of buddies!!!
