Went fishing for the first time this year in my new Hobie Outback. Went to Simpsons and caught some fish on my maiden voyage. :) Caught 1 14 inch Trout and 2 16 inch Reds. No keepers but glad I got my yak slimed on its first fishing trip.

Also took a old friend from the Bronx on his first kayak fishing trip. Beautiful day to be on the water.

Congrats on the new HOBIE and the sliming it!!!! Nothing like in a month or so when it warms up and you're pedaling around hands free fishing throwing topwater or paddle tails at the grass and creek openings. You are going to love it more and more. Personally I like the snugness of the Revo but you can't argue the comfy cockpit and plenty of room for all the niceties in the Outback!!!! Congratulations!!!

Yaking69 congratulations. Hopefully I'll have a similar report soon. I'm going to pull the trigger and buy a Hobie in March or April.

I have decided to buy the Revolution I think. What swayed you to the Outback? I'm just trying to find out all I can before I buy. Also did you have any upgrades or add-ons. I keep reading to go with the Turbo fins and such. I know the Revo doesn't have as many rod holders so I expect to add those.

Just curious about your opinion. Thanks.

Roger! Makes a big difference. I was trolling 2 rods on saturday and retying a leader to a jig all at the same time.
I love technology!

Thanks again guys!

Glad i got it slimed on its maiden voyage. Guess i purchased a lucky one. lol Loving my new investment. Cant wait to get out again.

Up the creek/Databox - I got the outback just for that reason. The comfy cockpit and the room to add what i need to fish. I tried both the outback and the revo a few times at Black Creek and the outback was my ultimate decision.

I didnt get any upgrades because i paid enough for it as it is. :) So far from the my first trip i know i am definetly getting a fish/depth finder to know how deep the water is. I hit bottom a few times. Lucky i was fishing in familiar territory and kept to the deeper water. Wanna keep my mirage drive in good shape.

As for the turbo fins i almost purchased them but the 90 dollar price tag made me rethink the decision. I remember that someone on the site made his own turbo fins so i am going to do like JYJ says and use the search function to see who posted info on the turbo's.

Also I already purchased 2 attwood anchor reins for my anchor system. Saw them on a post and just had to have them.
Can any of you guys can provide some info on installing them on a hobie? Best location on the outback and also what size downrigger balls do you use?
