Had a few hours in the afternoon to fish the outgoing high tide after the kids basketball games. I deicided to skip the bait shop and go with all artificials to a spot I had some great results at early last year but have not fished in awhile. I found the fish quickly and they did not dissapoint. The trout were hungry and scrappy.

My final tally for just over 3 hours of fishing was 28 trout with the largest being just over 18". I picked up 6-8 of the really nice sized ones. The surprise of the day was my first Flounder in a long time. He was also right at 18". All fish were released to be caught another day.

I headed out with three rods rigged. One had a DOA Shrimp I have been using since I got it in the JKF tourney captains bag last year and has caught me scores of fish. It is clear with straight little pieces of reflective tinsel. I have not seen this color in the stores but the fish have been loving it. I also used my new favorite lure, the Mirrodine 17mr. Lastly I experimented with some of the new Mirrolure soft plastic paddle tails on a jig head. That caught me a few trout and my flounder. That was all I needed to enjoy a great day on the water.

Ron,

Thats one heck of a day you had there! Very nice flounder to boot. I can't remember the last time I caught one of those. Today was absolutely beautiful and I wish I could have joined you out there.

Your artifical bait fishing skills are becoming quite proficient. WTG :-B

Big numbers on trout!! Nice Flattie too. Looks like you had a heck of a day out there man. Those DOA shrimp are killers as long as you don't let Jerry fish them. (someone gave him a pack of the replacement shells and he fishes them without a hook)

Hey Chappy...I certainly glad that I did NOT have a drink of Diet Pepsi in my mouth when I read:
"someone gave him a pack of the replacement shells and he fishes them without a hook"
