i took my kayak out today for the first time just to get a feel for things and maybe to catch a few fish. got out on the water about 12 and went south to a few creeks on the east side of the ditch, the tide seemed super low. after about two hours and no action i headed back, the only thing that got caught today was my truck. when i backed down the "ramp" to load my kayak turns out it was a little soft. just wanted to give a heads up to anyone else using that area as a launch.

i thought about it but there was a fair amount of boat traffic and this spot is marked as a launch spot on the fishing spots map. also it was sand(except the mudhole) so i could slide my kayak instead of picking it up, it weighs about 80+ when loaded and its awkward to pick up at 14ft long

yea would be nice but it was my graduation gift so im not complaining either way and insurance for an 18 year old with a 4x4 is a little steep but, thats why i never leave home without my tow strap. usually gets through most stuff as long as i bag the tires and get a running start but thats what family with street legal monster trucks are for isn't it???=)

Well at least you got out. It’s been tough fishing in the Palm Valley area lately with all the cold weather & wind. Nice to see you got out though.

Good thing you got out OK. Hey at least that's better than a great day on the water and then returning to find your truck a bit below the hide tide line.
