Went out yesterday and found yhe weather a bit more comfortable. The temperature was a warm 53 degrees and the wind was around 10 MPH out of the North. :D
Can you believe that I am calling that comfortable? I was wearing my Capelene top and bottom, Wool Socks, Waterproof Slacks, Wool Fishing Sweater I bought in Ireland at Aaron Island, Waders and Boots, Orvis Fishing Jacket, Wool Gloves, and a Tilly Hat and Ear Covers.
I was thinking as I was loading my Yak, how I wish it was warmer so I wouldn't have to get so covered up.
When I started the Temp was in the low 40's. As it warmed up I was never hot because all my clothing breathes.
Well as for the fishing, I caught two of the largest Trout I have ever caught. :) Of course they were released since the season is over.
No pics on this trip. The Trout were cold and I did not want to take a chance and damage them for a photo. If I had had someone with me we could have taken a pic when I put them in the Yak but being by myself it is too much of an ordeal to get the pic and keep the fish alive.
Florida Fishing this winter has been a real disappointment for me. I was told that I would catch alot more fish in the Winter than I did in the Summer. I caught alot of fish in the Summer but the Winter fishing leaves alot to be desired. I hope this is not the normal.
I have lived in Florida for 3 years and I am going to 10,000 Islands at the end of the month to look for warm weather. :sunny:
Let me know if you guys have experienced the same thing I am going through. :(

Winter fishing has been off this year, I think the water got a little colder than usual and is the reason for this.

Winter fishing in that area (and along the entire Big Bend) is much better- you just have to know where to go. I haven't fished as much this year as I normally do, but when I have, things have been good to say the least. The fish are pretty concentrated. Just put in the time and you'll find them. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about the attacking bull sharks this time of year.
