Whats your favourite lure, the first one you try out of the box, the one that has caught you the most fish.

I'll start this off. I was talked into purchasing a Savage-Gear 4play herring lure back in September by a very good tackle shop owner, on my first outing for pike last year and within 2 minutes of the lure being out of the box I had hooked up with my first Pike of the day. In November I was fishing in the Lake District during some floods and hooked the lure on a submerged fence, not being able to cope with losing my favourite lure, I jumped in and manhandled the fence with my feet until I was able to grab the lure and unhook it, I do love a happy ending :rr:

My favorite lure is live bait, like in the pic above. Take some silly Brit who would jump into the water to save a lure, put a line on him and set to trolling around for big fish!

:chicken:

Just having some fun Marvin!

Those Savage Gear lures are wonderful. I have my stash from the planned intro here in 2008 but they closed up shop in the USA. A friend of mine was the President of the USA unit. I rarely use them since they are so scarce. I understand why you went for a swim to get it back, those 4 Play plugs do work well. I have so many go to lures but coming down to basics few lures are as good day after day as DOA shrimp.

I've caught the most fish on some "dirt cheap no name unscented chartreuse curly tail grubs" I bought in bulk a few years ago. Trout love em.

This particular Yozuri Crystal Minnow:

I've bought this lure 5 times now. It caught my first Bonefish, PB Barracuda, PB Mutton Snapper, PB Stingray, a nice Snook, and more. Oddly enough, I rarely use it these days - but it's the first lure I give to any visitor that wants to catch their first FL fish.

Its rare for us to have lures that you don't, if you're after any in particular let me know, could bring over for you in May.

Hey John I like his idea about maybe bringing some over. They are one heck of a lure, I've used them a few times in the salt and fiqured I was tempting fate with the snook. Those darn fish love to wear exotic lures as bling.

Hey guys,

After reading this post and looking up the lure....I can't resist new lures :D I found a bunch on Ebay. I bought one from a guy with the screen name "isadoraisadora". I couldn't find the brook trount in a shallow diver so I got the sucker pattern.

Thanks for posting about this lure, I'm hoping it is a good one!

Mark

I got to go with the Crystal Minnow series by Yo Zuri. I can usually pick them up on sale at Dick's every once in a while. I buy like 8 at a time... I've got 3 stow-a-away's full of these things in just about every color and size you can think of.

My favorite lure is the one that works on the day I go fishing. One rod is set up with a Gulp Shrimp, One Rod is set up with a Zara Spook, One Rod is set up with a Mirror Lure, The last Rod is set up with a Gold Spoon.
Depending on the water calrity, the sun, and the deapth of the water I am fishing, depends on the bait that I use.
All four catch fish in the right conditions.
