I fished Yankeetown Yesterday, Friday in an area that I have never fished. I was wrapped up in my winter fishing atire and forgot to pack my camera.
It turned out it really did not matter because I would not have had time to take any pics. The action on Reds was non stop.
I was using a Chartreaus Jig head and a 4" Gulp Shrimp. I had never used the RootBeer Color but wow was it hot.
I stopped counting at 20 and all were 20" or better. Several were over 30". I was worn out by 3:00 so I headed home with the anticipation of returning soon. No Trout or ant other species. Only huge Reds.
By the way, I spoke to several other fisherman who were returning to the dock nd they had had the same success. :)
Let me know if the Atlantic side was as good. :salute:

Sounds like they were hungry Al, I love hearing a report about getting tired from reeling in!

Great day! Of course using the Gulp be careful you don't want to get hooked ;) . At that level of feeding you could have thrown almost anything. This is the time of year for sore arms, happy anglers, and very rich Gulp salesmen. My best day on reds this time last year had me down to throwing a rubber cockroach on a jig head. They had hit everything else I had at the time and so I threw that too.

The fish knew who you were, afterall they have to be fair. Besides if you caught the fire out of them everytime you might be bored and take up golf.

can't wait to have a day when I'm tired from catching fish rather than from looking for them. WTG.
