Hello Again ! This is Expeditions in Hell with our 2nd annual kayak fishing tournament. Yes, we learned from our mistakes last year. This year we are only having a kayak fishing tournament and it will be held the first weekend of December - 5th and 6th. We will want all captains at the Captain's meeting at 0800 on the 5th. The tournament will run from after the Captain's meeting until 1400 on the 6th. That is right a day and a half should be plenty of time to find those Reds and this year we are adding a trophy trout. So you can fish for both and again, we are doing catch/photo/release.

Yes, there will be prizes, cash and otherwise. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both catagories!

The fishing area will include Alligator Point to St. George Island bridge- Lanark, and Turkey point included, plus the Carrabelle, New and Crooked Rivers (up to where the Ocholocknee meets, but NOT INCLUDING THE OCHOLOCKNEE).

Contact us for places to stay- there should be plenty of rooms for all of you!!

Again, partial proceeds will go towards Toys for Tots.

Registration: $30.00 for those who register and pay in full now through the 15th of November, from the 16th - December 3rd the price goes up to $40.00 (also paid in full) and for those last minute the cost is $50.00 that is from December 4th - 5th.

THE TIDES SHOULD BE OKAY BARRING ANY MAJOR NORTHER - And the fishing should be good. Fishing licenses are required.

Beware that is will be hunting season...

Be sure to contact us for your rego forms - they can be emailed, faxed , mailed or just come on in!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS AND ASSISTANCE WITH THIS TOURNAMENT- WE WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.

CONTACT: EXPEDITIONS IN HELL - INFO@EXPEDITIONSINHELL.COM 850-697-2434 or 866-797-2434

Hello Robin and Rama, and thanks for the reminder on the Tourney!!

About 12-15+ of the kayak fishing addicts from this area will be over at St. Joseph's Peninsula State Park from NOV. 6-9th, and I just realized that I must have gone thru Carabelle on my last two trips over there to camp and fish!! LOL!!

Dunno if I can make that trip two months in a row, but it sure seems interesting!!
I do have that Friday, and Sunday and Monday as normal Non-working days, but getting a SAT is pretty difficult!!! I'll see what I can do tho!!
Maybe some of the other people who love to travel and fish and even camp with give it a shot too!!

Please let me know some answers to these questions:
(1) How much shorter a trip is it just to go to Carabelle instead of SJPSP from JAX??? Or, many hours are you from JAX??
(2) Have you checked with any local area hotels for "group rates"?? If so, how much??
(3) If not....could you recommend any places to camp nearby to the Tourney HQ and Capt. Meeting venue??
Thanks in advance!!!
JohnYaksJax

On the way home from Cape San Blas and the Kampout on Monday, I was daydreaming and driving thru Carabelle, when I spotted a long blue kayak hanging out over the sidewalk....Screeeech!!!

I accidentally found "Expeditions in Hell", and went in and chatted with Robin awhile. They have a nice operation over there, and I picked up an application for the Tourney they are having next month.....I am REALLY trying to get off that SAT so that I can head west again!!

Hope that some of the other people in here that travel and kayakfish consider fishing it also...I need help learning that area between now and then!!
Nice to meet you Robin!!

PS: I just HAD TO buy one of their cool T-shirts!!! The name comes from an actual event over there with a guy named Tate who got lost in the swamp...which is now a state park. Her website linked me to the story...

I am about 90% certain that I am going to get off that Saturday...Dec. 5th, and should know for certain later today!!!

I am already off on FRI and SUN and MON, so that gives me a FOUR DAY WEEKEND!!

Hopefully we can get a group together and represent JKF over there...????

Hey Mudcat...if you are offering, I would certainly appreciate a place to stay!!!
Thanks!!

Charlie (Drag-On) and cousin Alfie (Alfster) are also going. Keep an eye out for them. Also, since they've never been there. Anyone have a link for fishing info in the area.
