Fished Guana River with my brother today. No other kayaks on the water the entire day  We both caught quite a few fish, a mixed bag including Reds to 20", Trout to 18", Lady Fish, Croakers, some other types of Trout, and of course lots of fat Cats, Pinfish, and a Sting Ray. Nice day on the water.

Hey John,
Thanks. We had a good day out there.
It was a little choppy in certain areas, but there were plenty of spots that were slick as glass. The fish were scattered, biting all over the place regardless of the tide. We worked the entire shoreline "loop", but never lost site of the dam.
Can't go this Sun/Mon, but next Sunday I'll be out there somewhere. I'm taking my 11 year old daughter with her new yak. You are welcome to join us.

Good luck!

I went to Guana River today (Sunday, 10-25-2009). I was using a grub and a saltwater assasin for the entire 3.5 hours of fishing. No hit....
I fished from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. Should I have use Gulp or DOA Shrimp
I wish I could do like you guys do. :study: :?:

It was a great day on the river! Thanks to Mudfish for a good choice of location. It was a bit breezy mid-day but became much more calm in the afternoon.

The bass was caught last Thursday in the backyard pond on ultralite 6 lb. test - nabbed a purple worm on the second cast and jumped at least 4 times!

File comment: Honorable mention...This backyard bass looks like he is already mounted but he is free to be caught another day.

I used to launch at SML frequently, but haven't in quite a while. How's the algae been lately?

I fished topwater a couple of times last week out of 6 Mile. No problems for the most part. I'm not real familiar with the water and so don't know what to expect. I caught plenty of trout (including a couple of monsters) no reds or flounder. I went north, but understand that there is some good water to the south near the observation tower. I'll be back over there next week and will post up for a play date. Maybe some of you guys can show me around.

:D I fished at Ft George river on Friday and even though the weather REALLLLLYYY sucked I limited out on Seatrout I launched out of the Alamachani ( I hoped I spelled that right) boat ramp and fished fairly close to the ramp along the grass on an out going tide I used power grubs in white w/ chartruese tail with a red 1/4 oz jighead the biggest one was about 4 lbs not a gator but she was 21 inches long and she hit very hard at first I thought I had a red on then she came to the surface like most trout and thrashed wildly and strangely enough she was hooked in the lower jaw? I usually start trolling grubs and rapala x-raps in black and silver and black and gold when the weather starts lowering thewater temperature below the 70's in other words when it is extremly difficult to catch one on a topwater then I troll and also use gulp shrimp on a popping cork around oyster mounds and sometimes I wade and fish also I know this report has nothing to do with guana but I have been having difficulty trying to post my report and this section of the site seems to let me and speaking of guana in the regs it states that six mile boat ramp is closed from 10 Nov -10 Feb and the main part of the lake in the park you are only allowed to fish for the first 2 miles of the lake this closure is because of duck season anyways until next time good fishin to all and to all a good night!!!
